SALIM M. EDDÉ
• After obtaining his engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique, Salim ddé obtained an MS Chemical Engineering from MIT, then an MBA from the University of
Chicago, specialization in Finance (futures and options markets on financial instruments).
• In 1981, he was a Process Engineer at ELF AQUITAINE (Donges, France) and took part in the design and production of energy saving control software as well as the start-up of a distillation unit and staff training. .
• In 1985 he was “Associate Consultant” at BOOZ, ALLEN & amp; HAMILTON in Jeddah where he participated in studies of the organization of industrial cities and
banks, and setting up computerized management systems.
• In 1986 he co-founded MUREX S.A., of which he is one of the directors until today.
Murex is an IT company (2,200 employees in May 2019 including 950 in Paris and 650 in Beirut, € 550 million in turnover) specializing in the supply of software for banking and trading rooms
financial institutions around the world (main offices in Beirut, Paris, Singapore, New York, Dublin, Tokyo, Beijing, Luxembourg, Sydney).
He is the founder of the MIM MUSEUM in Beirut (2012), a museum of Mineralogy and Paleontology focused on pedagogy and interactivity in three languages (Arabic,
French English). The “mim” is considered today to be one of the main mineralogical collections in the world. Its Paleontology section specializing in the Lebanese Cenomanian offers some of the most beautiful samples known for this period.
